LET’S RODEO!
Sarah Bird’s timeless photos offer a rare portrait of the jubilant,
vibrant, vital, nearly hidden and now all-but-vanished world of small-town Black rodeos. “I feel blessed that I have lived long enough to return these images to the communities that created this world, and to see a country where Black cowboys and girls are not only recognized but celebrated for the heroes they always were.”
